The GSRD Foundation is supervised by a board that consists of members related to G-Star and members external to G-Star. The external members of the board are:

Klaas de Jong has extensive knowledge in the field of international development, issue management and corporate social responsibility. De Jong was for many years active in both the public and private sector at national and international level and currently holds several advisory positions in both sectors.

Michiel Steeman is professor in Supply Chain Finance at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences. Steeman has broad experience in the world of philanthropy and specifically has on the ground knowledge about setting up, managing and scaling development projects.

The board is also supported by a specialised philanthropy advisor:

Rien van Gendt is the former executive director of the Bernard van Leer Foundation and holds many more positions in the world of philanthropy both on national and international level. Van Gendt worked in both public and private sector before joining the Bernard van Leer Foundation. Van Gendt was awarded with the Distinguished Grantmaker Award and received the Compass Prize of the European Foundation Centre for its contribution to the foundation sector.

Board secretarial tasks are carried out by the G-Star Corporate Responsibility Department who has broad knowledge of the social and economic situation in G-Star production countries.

The GSRD  Foundation is member of the Association of Foundations in the Netherlands (known by its Dutch acronym FIN) and follows the code of conduct of the FIN (www.verenigingvanfondsen.nl). In addition, the GSRD Foundation is considered a Public Benefit Institution (known by its Dutch acronym ANBI).
