In cooperation with Net4Kids, the GSRD Foundation provides integral help to street children in India by offering them education and shelter, with the aim of helping them to reintegrate into society.

The project is for girls between the ages of four and 18 who live on the streets of Calcutta, India and are in need of shelter, caring, adult guidance, education and assistance in finding suitable employment after their schooling has ended. The children, also called 'rainbow' children, go to the Loreto day-school where they mix with the other students of the school. Here the ‘rainbow’ children receive remedial teaching from older pupils on a one-to-one basis, so that they can learn with and from each other. The children are housed in a separate building within the school and professional staff members look after their well-being and progress. The children perform minor household duties, do homework, and enjoy different types of recreation.
